EVIDENCE OF COMMERCIAL REGISTRATION
Register your screenplay with ASA to create a legal record of commercial registration that provides an evidentiary measure for copyright violation or unauthorized use of your screenplay. Registering your screenplay will not prevent similar ideas, stories, themes or title, but it will provide a level of deterrence for taking your story in whole or in large portion and packaging or using it for commercial purposes.
In case of a threat or legal claim by you against a potential copyright violator, ASA will be able to produce the registered material and verify its date of registration, subject to the terms and conditions of the service as noted on the registration form. This is admissible as legal evidence of your screenplay's existence and date of first commercial publication. ASA will provide you with an affidavit confirming this legal existence.

We recommend contacting a competent copyright attorney to learn all of your rights and responsibilities.
TERM OF REGISTRATION
Your screenplay registration remains active as long as your ASA Insider membership is in good standing, but in no case for longer than 1 year from the date of your most recent membership renewal.
COST
This service is FREE for ASA Premier Members for up to 10 (ten) screenplays. Each additional screenplay upload will cost $5, and will be invoiced via email prior to uploading. ASA Insider Basic and Non-members may register their screenplays at a cost of $15 per screenplay.
